Hi there,

Over a year and a half ago, I wrote "POD in 5 minutes". There was no POD
tutorial, and people had said that perlpod was a bit overwhelming for a
POD-newbie. This tutorial has already helped a lot of people move from
text or HTML files to POD.

I first posted it to Perl Monks 2003-04-23, at
<http://perlmonks.org/?node_id=252477>, after publishing it at my own
site at <http://juerd.nl/perlpodtut> and having let #perlhelp and #perl
people read it and suggest ways to make it better.

In <http://perlmonks.org/?node=perlpodtut>, I asked the people at Perl
Monks how they feel about including the document in the perl
distribution as perlpodtut. Reactions were positive.

Recently, I changed some things according to Sean Burke's suggestions
and today I have finally podified it. (The document, although it is
about POD, was not written in POD initially.)

So as my 2004 christmas present*, I humbly submit to you, for
inclusion in the standard distribution of perl: perlpodtut.pod
(attached).

This version is the one you see at <http://juerd.nl/perlpodtut>, but in
POD. The PM one is outdated.

Regards and for those who celebrate: merry Christmas!

Juerd

* perlcheat originally was a christmas present in 2002 :)
