This is a bug report for perl from,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.34 running under perl v5.9.2.

[Please enter your report here]

    config_args='-de -Dusedevel -DDEBUGGING'

... yet,

$ perl -D8
Recompile perl with -DDEBUGGING to use -D switch (did you mean -d ?)

Same effect for -Dt, -Do, etc.

The `perl` in the path is the one and same that was built with -DDEBUGGING:

$ whereis perl

$ ls -la /usr/bin/perl
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  24 May 14 20:27 /usr/bin/perl -> /usr/local/bin/perl5.9.2

$ ls -la /usr/local/bin/perl
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  13 Feb  7 20:09 /usr/local/bin/perl -> /usr/bin/perl

This survived a make clean and re-make install.
I don't believe that the one local patch is responsible.

Thanks ;)
