This is a bug report for perl from davidm.perl@math2.org,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.34 running under perl v5.8.3.

[Please enter your report here]

The below patch fixes an error in Text::Balanced, in the extract_quotelike function,
where it fails to recognize empty HERE documents (i.e. containing a null-string).
The original code requires at least two new-lines between the HERE doc delimiters,
whereas an empty HERE doc contains only one. The below patch fixes this by removing
one unnecessary consumption of a "\n" char.

Also included is a new test case the fails under the original code.
