The strict 'subs' checks that make barewords illegal are apparently
run *after* constant folding, because this doesn't die:
perl -Mstrict=subs -e 'print if foo'
while this does die:
perl -Mstrict=subs -e 'print if $a = foo'
Only slightly embarrassing....
