Moin,

I appreciate that there are now more regular (and often) releases of Perl.
Meaning if you miss one boat, there is the next already on the horizon.

However, seeng the very little traffic here, the tme of the year and season, I
think the release date 2004-01-08 is not a good one, especially because the
code freeze is supposed to happen on 30.dec. 2003. (right?).

I mean, I have enough time to hack on BigInt, but then I am a looner. However,
even I have got plenty of things todo than coding with the upcoming parties
visits and all that.

Looking at the very little responses my last BigInt-related posts got and the
_very_ little traffic overall we had, I think most people will simple not
have any time right now to tackle outstanding issues. Which all will lead to
a flury of activities at the start of January 2004, when people catch up with
their inboxes, but by then it's too late for 5.8.3.

So maybe the date should be moved a week or two forward, and in the future
release dates shouldn't be set right after a big holiday season.

Best wishes,

Tels
