This is a bug report for perl from abigail@abigail.nl,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.34 running under perl v5.8.1.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
[Please enter your report here]

The following program overloads numeric constants, and should turn
all numbers into '17':

    #!/usr/bin/perl

    use strict;
    use warnings;

    BEGIN {
        $^H = 0x21000;
        $^H {integer} = sub {print "[", $_ [0], "]\n"; 17};
    }

    BEGIN {print "print 0;\n"}
    print 0, "\n";

    BEGIN {print "print 1;\n"}
    print 1, "\n";

    __END__
    print 0;
    print 1;
    [1]
    0
    17

It doesn't modify 0 though. I would have expected the result to be:

    print 0;
    [0]
    print 1;
    [1]
    17
    17
