That's not really something to be concerned about.  People who want to
install non-released versions really have to be prepared to take care
of such things.

Yes, there really needs to be something available at the XS and perl
levels to tell that this is not vanilla 5.8.1 (for purposes of
implementing workarounds and test skips for 5.8.1 but not for fixed
versions afterward).  But I still assert that the easiest solution is
to call it 5.8.2 (with the MAINT marker).
