...sorry to bother you guys, but I am experiencing some strange problems with IO::Socket.

I have a program which, every minute connects to approximately 12 servers concurrently, 99.5% of the time it works fine, but occasionally when I close the connection down instead of sending a FIN etc. the program just sends an RST. This results in the server thinking the socket is still open and refuses to accept any more connections.

Could you give me any ideas why this may be happening? Or maybe even a method of debugging it?

I am running this program on a Redhat 8.0 system, using perl 5.8.0 and version 1.26 of IO::Socket.

Thanks in advance.
