This is a bug report for perl from bethenco@upl.cs.wisc.edu,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.34 running under perl v5.8.0.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,
Perl segfaults on the following one liner:
perl -e '("a b a\n" x 393) =~ /([^ \n]+\s+)+/'
It consists of a single regular expression matched against a
fairly long (2358 bytes) text. Attempts to reduce the text or the
regular expression have resulted in perl no longer segfaulting.
The re does not seem particularly pathological, but I don't know
much about such things.
Thanks for all your hard work on such a useful tool.
John Bethencourt
