I don't know offhand, but that particular combination of MIPS/gcc/-O2
looks like one reasonable possible culprit.  Try again without the
optimizer.  Specifically, do the following:

	make realclean

then edit config.sh and change the line optimize='-O2' to optimize='-g'.
Then run

	sh Configure -S
	make depend
	make
	make test

I'm hopeful that'll clear up the op/pack.t tests.  I don't know about the
socketpair tests -- that may well be a kernel/glibc issue of some sort.
You might be able to learn a bit more by running the test by hand:
	cd t/harness
	./perl -I../lib ../ext/Socket/socketpair.t
