Hi All,

A while back Salvador Fandino posted a patch/feature idea for providing
proper assertions with debugger support. Personally I thought the idea was
brilliant but refrained from commenting as I know little of the code
involved and figured all and sundry would address it better than I ever
could. However it seemed that almost nobody commented on the patch.
Neither to say "what a great idea, but unfortunately ..." nor to say "what a
great idea, after you make some changes to X, Y and Z we'll probably apply
the patch", or for that matter anything else (well, there was one comment
but that was it).

The submission is archived here:

Maybe a discussion about this patch and its future happened off list or
something but in case it just got overlooked in the general hustle and
bustle of everyones lives then I'd like to call your attention to it once
again and ask what chance there is that it would be applied.

I for one would like to register that I would _love_ to have this
functionality available to me in my day to day perl development work.

Thanks a lot Salvador for making the effort on your end.

Cheers,
Yves
