I'd suggest considering the following changes. A couple of them are

I think that we ought to warn that Configure -des will install perl into
/usr/bin if you were so foolish as to run make install on this fully
operational Death Star ...  Er, fully armed, well whatever.

Also, why do we say this:

Are all major new releases of perl unfit for production purposes?
