Ahhh.  Here's the lost core patch.... it would seem that the p5p list
is acting as a pseudo-random shuffle algorithm.  From quick glancing
this is what you described but NI-S was confused not to see in the
patch sent earlier...

P.S.  Would 'restricted hash' be an acceptable name?
