These two are cosmetic only.  However, os2/os2.c uses a lot of
statics.  What is the official way to add new platform-specific fields
to the interpreter/thread structures?

The 5.005 model was wonderful, not horrible.  Having light-weight
threads is very important in many applications.  But such a
light-weight model should exist as a *choice*; of course it is not
very useful as the default.
