One small concern that I have about the caller() trick is that,
if the context stack gets mangled in some way, all the diagnostic
information will go as well.

As long as the early tests are written sufficiently well and
carefully (and ordered so that a feature is tested before it's
used incidentally), the specialised tests can have more leeway
I suppose.
