Robert, If you go into the CPAN site and open "binary distributions", then at the top of the resulting page you get some pungent advice: "I strongly suggest that you compile Perl yourself from the source code distribution. This way you always get the latest Perl and you can configure Perl as you like and you avoid the security risks inherent in installing binary distributions." Mozilla refused to put my previous emails into its 'Sent' folder and I have had to assume that they were never dispatched.
