$a .= <FH>; was meant to be folded into an op called "rcatline". The
opcode's there for it, in pp_sys.c, and I never saw it until today. 

If anyone wants to make this work, they should dive into the optimizer
(peep) in op.c, and look for a gv op followed by a readline, followed by
a concat; you'll also need to check the flags to make sure that the
concat is also doing an assign.

Then null out the concat and turn the readline into an rcatline.

Now it's time to work out what the indread op is for. :)
