What about implementing the **current** way formats are dealt with (a bit like
a lexer/parser kind of way) to using Inline, doing it *the same way*, so
conversions to whatever are taken out of the core and make porting to perl6
easy as pie.

substituting

format STDOUT =
@<<<<<<<<<
$%
BLAH
.

with

use Inline format 'STDOUT', <<'.'
@<<<<<<<<<<
$%
BLAH
.

or alike wouldn't hurt the current users too much, would it?
