What happened here? Jonathan Stowe apparently submitted a patch (get 
applied as 11103), updated that patch (11104), and now it looks as if 
the whole thing got reverted to its former state (with 11105). However, 
I didn't see any message from jns nor from jhi about this. I thought I 
might just be out-of-date because I read the digest, but the next 
couple of digests to come along didn't appear to have anything about 
this, either.

What caused 11103/11104 to be retracted in 11105, without a comment? Or 
can someone give me a link to where the comment was archived if there 
was one?
