[ID 20010703.005] failed test - can't load library 'libperl.so'

Perhaps something dumb on my part? I ran the 'configure' with the hints for BSD
since I had this same problem prior.  Need to install a newer version for a
more up-to-date Crypt library for use with web-based email packages. Prompt
assistance would be greatly appreciated.
