[ID 20010225.002] [8892] Bug in n-arg open
Message ID:
15001.7928.65848.620625@phoenix.squirrel.nl

This is a bug report for perl from jvromans@squirrel.nl,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.33 running under perl v5.7.0.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
[Please enter your report here]

When using the more-than-3-args version of 'open', apparently not all
arguments are passed to the command. Example:

perl -wle 'open($fh,"-|","echo","foo"); print while <$fh>'

This will print an empty line, since 'echo' is started, but "foo" is
not added to its argument list.

Severity = high since it is a silent malfunction, causing extremely
hard to find errors.
