[BUG] defined $* is undefined?

Normally I'd use perlbug, but that address seems to be broken these
days, so I mail p5p directly.

    $ perl -wle '$* = 1; undef $*'
    Use of $* is deprecated at -e line 1.
    Use of uninitialized value in undef operator at -e line 1.
    $

The first warning is to be expected, but when C<$*> equals 1,
I don't think it's right to claim it's undefined.

(This happens in 5.00503, 5.6.0, 5.7.0 and bleedperl.)
