Terminology: variable names and identifiers (Camel)

[Warning: extreme nit-pickiness ahead.]

I'm going to refer to locations in Camel III here, because the last time I
checked, there was a variance between it and the pods, and also because
what I am observing is partly in footnotes, and the last time I checked,
they weren't in the pods at all.

The second footnote on p.291 states:

To clear up another bit of potential confusion, in a variable name like
C<$main::sail>, we use the term "identifier" to talk about C<main> and
	C<sail>, but
not main::sail. We call that a variable name instead, because identifiers
	cannot contain colons.
