I can do a test with Solaris 9 and the old 5.0 compilers for both sparc
and intel.  I havn't got hold of the new version for x86 yet.

Please don't say this - people will assume you mean 64-bit address space
(sparcv9).  If you man 64-bit ints, then say 64-bit ints.
