Simple way to get rid of that habit is to make the transaction to a `normal'
user id easier is to loging as non-root, but have the most needed su commands
available on a private (700) dir in your path with suid root:

l1:/u/usr/merijn 102 > ll ~/bin/private
   1041 -r-sr-xr-x   1 root     softwr      20533 Jul 19  1999 -
   1040 drwx------   2 merijn   softwr       1024 Feb  9  2000 .
    982 drwxrwxrwx   3 merijn   softwr       2048 Jul 14 15:01 ..
   1044 -r-sr-xr-x   1 root     bin         20480 Nov  7  1997 chacl
   1045 -r-sr-xr-x   1 root     bin         24576 Nov  7  1997 chgrp
   1046 -r-sr-xr-x   1 root     bin         28672 Nov  7  1997 chmod
   1047 -r-sr-xr-x   1 root     bin         24576 Nov  7  1997 chown
   2228 lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     sys            26 Feb  9  2000 df -> ../../../../../usr/bin/bdf
   1049 -r-sr-xr-x   1 root     sys         16384 Feb 24  1999 nice
   1050 -r-sr-xr-x   1 root     sys         16384 Feb 24  1999 renice
   1051 -r-sr-xr-x   1 root     softwr      20530 Mar 29  1999 sam

'-' is sudo :-)
On HP-UX there's two different df commands: 'df' and 'bdf'. df looks like the
old SysV df with 512 byte blocks, where bdf looks pretty good, so I want df to
be bdf on this system allways.

This way I seldom have to work as root.
