[PATCH: 6948] mvs doesn't exist (not any more)
Message ID:

Enclosed are two possible patches to the AUTHORS file in the
perl@6948 kit. The first possibility is small and addresses the
typo(?) that would otherwise have folks believe that vms is an ebcdic
platform:

End of possible patch 0

However, mvs has not been a shipping OS for nearly 10 years, which is not
to say that it isn't supported, but it has been renamed. Hence the
following possible patch:

Do note though that the mailing list is still called "perl-mvs" for
several reasons including: 0) it is shorter, 1) "tradition" 2) since
mvs is no longer a product we can use the list for general ebcdic
questions and cover platforms like os400, vm/esa, vse/esa, bs2000,
linux-s390 (just kidding), etc.

I'll leave it to the pumpking to choose between these patches.
