[ID 20000428.003] IO and filehandle redirection conflict

This is a bug report for perl from soon@trepp.com,
generated with the help of perlbug 1.26 running under perl 5.00503.

[Please enter your report here]

There appears to be a conflict between IO and redirecting output.

Here is the code:

use IO;
open (STDOUT, "| tee log");
my $fh =  new IO::Handle();
$fh->fdopen(fileno(STDOUT), "w") || die("Cannot open STDOUT");
print "Hello World\n";

This is fairly serious since if you use CGI and an IO-dependent
module you will hit this bug from a web server but not when you
run it from the command line. (Seen specifically with Writer.pm
and CGI interacting.)
