5.6.0-RC2: HARSH abort during `sh Configure`

I'm on SPARC Solaris 7 with gcc 2.8.1
I tried 5.6.0-RC2

I answered 'y' to the long doubles question to see what would happen.  I
got this:

> I do not see the Sun Workshop compiler; therefore there is no libsunmath.so;
> therefore I cannot do long doubles, sorry.  Cannot continue, aborting.

That's rather harsh, isn't it?  Can't you just fallback to a 'n' answer
rather than aborting!?!  Or, don't even ask that question if we've
already told you that we're building with gcc?
