I've been keeping stats on search for a while and suggested last summer
that there be a CPAN stats page, but it would have to be voluntary on the
part of each mirror to collect them and it would have to have a keeper.
If someone would like to take up this crusade, I'll give you a place to
put it.
I may make the stats public but I can say that the usual suspects are far
and away the most popular, e.g. LWP, Libnet, CGI, etc.
