Majordomo is a simple mailinglist application and it doesn't claim to be
anything more than that. Just as some would claim sendmail is 'broken'
when all it really claims to be is an MTA, unlike the kitchen sink
chainsaw that qmail seems to be.

There are quite a few old[er] applications either written in Perl or
mostly in Perl being offered on the net. Some of them have been abandoned
in favour of a commercial version of the same product yet many offer
an OpenSource version that, though old, still works.

I've suggested this before, but it would be an idea to have freshmeat.org
or something like it to have a perl 'area' where applications would be
listed, rated and possibly even reviewed.
