Unableness to differentiate between accuracy of technical terms and
fancy synonyms is most regrettable.  You may flount your thesaurical
knowledge of cool words (hey, I like cool words myself) as much as you
like but you won't unwrite the use of the term 'octet' from technical
literature.  I'm cool with 'bytes', too.  My opinion is just that
'octets' would be better.
