In which case, please take note that you previously gave the appearance
of dismissing the patch out of hand - I'm glad that's not what you
intended.

However, I've read through your postings on this thread, and, like
Tom, I'm unclear on what you think the larger bug is; I've read
through them again, as you suggested, but I still can't find it.

Whatever it is, I want it to be fixed, and if you want help with that,
or even for people to be aware of it, I'd appreciate a full, or at least
clear, description of the issues involved. One-liners work fine as perl
programs, but aren't so good as bug reports.
