In fact this time Tom's counterarguments have some base, it was not
purely "in spite".  The construct I proposed is not purely cherries in
sugar.

However, the functionality is badly needed (since more and more
pragmas become lexically scoped), and it may happen that this
construct makes the smallest aesthetic damage comparing to alternatives.
