HPUX 9.1 m68k libm.a
Message ID:
Hi !

perl5.001 compiled well (99%) on my 9000/m68040 apollo HP-UX9.1 .
Now I need som newer features and tried perl5.005_03 compilation.
My hpux-m68k configuration --- which is _not_ supported in README.hpux ---
stops compilation with following error:
make[1]: Entering directory `/tmp/make/perl5.005_03/ext/POSIX'
LD_RUN_PATH="/lib" ld -o ../../lib/auto/POSIX/ \
>  -b -L/usr/local/lib POSIX.o    -lm
ld: supplemental symbol table required for module /lib/libm.a
ld: (Warning) did not generate an output file

since /lib/libm.a _has_ a symbol table (strip<->ar ts), I am not
shure wether the problem is a (known?) bug in the /lib/libm.a or a
problem with the perl-code. May be some options were not set properly?

Any hints?
Please mail to me directly because I did'nt subscribe to perl-porters.

Thank you very much
