I'm now in the process of moving the infrastructure of the CPAN master site (=the software running the master site) to a new machine. The ftp.funet.fi already is the new machine (a four-Sparc box), the infra is still running on the old machine (a single-Alpha box). It's a move between two different CPU architectures and operating systems, so things can definitely go wrong. Most of the software is written in Perl and shell scripts, so in principle things could work... But in any case: if you during the following few days notice that something at CPAN is not working: files not being updated, files being updated too much, files disappearing/corrupted, connections refused, whatever, please report asap to cpan@perl.org. -- $jhi++; # http://www.iki.fi/jhi/ # There is this special biologist word we use for 'stable'. # It is 'dead'. -- Jack Cohen
