To the contrary: It's quite precisely how things are, and that's why
they're so documented. To pretend that no such problem exists and thus
omit the documentation of it would have been less than honest.

I quote them to show that *notice* of the nature of this awkward situation
has indeed been provided. It's a transitional thing. That's what the
developer releases are for. What the next step is, is unclear, and
guidance and discussion are called for.
