hello to everyone!

please help me a.s.a.p. with this:
to test a perl environment, i have put on a server teh following materials:

1. .SHTML file looking like this:

<html>

<title>ion</title>

<body>

<!--#exec cgi="/cgi-bin/counter.cgi" -->

</body>

</html>

2. CGI script:

#!/usr/bin/perl
print ("Content-type: text/html\n\n");
print "Hello";
exit;

3. i have set the permissions for the CGI at 755.

4. the structure of the site:
in the main directory there are 2 folders: /cgi-bin and /html. the SHTML
file is in the /html folder, the CGI in /cgi-bin.

RESULT: NO EFFECT AT ALL! if i access the page in a browser, it doesn't
appear anything in the body. if i put a wrong name for the script, it says:
[an error occurred while processing this directive].

What's the problem???????

thanks,
Ovidiu
