Actually, Dick's group *is* about identifying concerns of large
Perl shops that need to be addressed in Perl6. If removing formats
is going to cause hellish amounts of pain in very big perl shops, then
we need to know that before they're removed from the language.

Dick's role is to let the implementers know what people find important
about Perl. Scouring CPAN and Freshmeat may give us one answer. Asking
large Perl shops may give us a different answer. All of these answers
are important.

If it *appears* to be anything else, someone's miscommunicating something
somewhere.
