Seems to me, either we start working on a perl6 implementation in C++ (or whatever systems programming language) now, or we finish (start?) work on a real compiler for Perl5 -- and delay the perl6 core by a year or more. I don't see how these two can proceed in parallel, so a choice has to be made. Personally I'd opt for the former; the advantages of implementing perl6 in Perl5 are slim, imho. -- John Porter Aus tiefem Traum bin ich erwacht.
