Uhoh. License lawyering, 50 yds. 

Section 2 of the LPGL states that libraries derived from LGPL get LGPL, and
that you can't just snag code and shove it in an application, but rather it
has to be released as a separate library - I didn't know about this. See
http://www.gnu.org/copyright/lesser.html

All these restrictions in place in the name of freedom. :(
