WRT PR, we need someone who speaks like Larry would, with full
authority of recognized correctness (but not infallibility, of
course).
Python has Guido. Java has Gosling. C++ has Stroustrup. C's
original designers are still around. In addition to the tribal
elders, all the committee-standardized languages have committee
members who can speak up and explain why things are as they are.
What's the common factor? Perceived authoritativeness.
Larry would be perfect for Perl PR -- and in fact he did it for a
while, when Perl was young -- but he's a semi-recluse now. (Not that
there's anything wrong with that. (Spoken as a fellow semi-recluse.))
