According to Stephen Zander: > I think the proposal is worthwhile but it seems incomplete IMHO as > it does not mention source filters, i.e. the ability to replace the > standard parsing engine with an alternative. I'd like to suggest that the term "source filters" refers to transformations that lead eventually to the creation of standard Perl which is then compiled in the normal way. Digital signature verification, for example, or macro processing. Alternative parsing -- alternative languages, in fact -- is a useful idea, but IMO a technically distinct one. -- Chip Salzenberg - a.k.a. - <chip@valinux.com> "I wanted to play hopscotch with the impenetrable mystery of existence, but he stepped in a wormhole and had to go in early." // MST3K
