Hi Steve,

My comments, which I still stand by and never said that I spoke for more than
just me, weren't meant to "light Uri up" or even to suggest that "he's doing it
wrong". And of course, my opinions don't even imply that I, myself, am as much
an expert in Perl as Uri is. Let's not look too deeply into my comments and
extrapolate something that was never there... :-)

Every one of us have been students at some point in our lives and as such, every
one of us has an opinion...perhaps a unique opinion...about 'teaching'
techniques. Though the topic started about Perl, Uri's comment and my
subsequent response could be applicable to almost any topic.

Forgive me in being harsh, but if your humble opinion reflects those on this
list, then I would be a bit surprise... I did not realize that this Perl
mailing list was made up of two classes: an exclusive club of "experts" and
everyone else. I had always thought that we're all equals here (someone will
quip that some are more equal than others :-D ) and everyone helps everyone else
[if their time and knowledge permits]. Am I mistaken, Steve?

Ray

PS: I never claim to know as much Perl as Uri, but your Google test is flawed.
It only returns hits based on indexed pages; someone who teaches Perl as a
profession in a class room and has no time to have an on-line presence is just
as qualified. We can't rely on Google for everything...
