I havent got my "Mastering regular Expressions Book" at hand, so Im sure
the syntax is wrong, but you get the drift...
if($string =~/(.{300})stringtomatch(.{200})/}{
if ($1 = /look for/)[
....
}
if ($2 = /whatever/){

}
}
