You also might want to ensure that you have Alien-WxWidgets from the 
wxperl repository. If you just select Wx in the package manager, it will 
pick up the correct Alien-wxWidgets. However, if you also select 
Alien-wxWidgets specifically from the activestate repository - bad 
things will happen.

Your error about different build versions tells you that you have the 
wrong wxWidgets binaries.
