Chas,

Try the script again without the patch.

Aslo try this with an without the patch:

use SDL;

use SDL::Video;

SDL::init(SDL_VIDEO);

my $d = SDL::Video::set_video_mode(800, 300, 32, SDL_SWSURFACE);
