I don't blame you.  Considering all of the different versions of make, their subtly incompatible options, their different versions supporting different features and all of the operating systems they need to run on, "make" is truly a horrible way of managing a robust build system.

That's why EU::MM is great for simple stuff, but ridiculously painful for anything complex.
