You're asking this because a part of the FAQ talks about how many production releases there are per year. You'll notice in the perlhist list that a lot of those releases are days apart (and in one case, not even that). The real point is the past couple of years, not the average over 14 years. People care about how it's going now, not the average and that someone didn't turn off the Chipinator during the winter of 96-97, or that 5.8 had six releases one year. Those outlier periods skew the data. The last release, 5.8.8, was 22 months ago. > -There is no Perl 6 for the next couple of years.
