  Remove =* init; add 'is default(*)' and such

The = * initiazer is too huffmanly short, and we need those semantics
for other traits anyway, so make it 'is default(*)'.  We're also
wanting defaults for other containers (such as KeySets), so spec
the 'default' trait on containers in general.
