We are pleased to announce release candidate one of perl v5.18.0,
destined to be the first stable release of version 18 of Perl 5.

You will soon be able to download Perl v5.18.0 RC1 from your
favorite CPAN mirror or find it at:

https://metacpan.org/release/rjbs/perl-5.18.0-RC1/

SHA1 digests for this release are:

  ddf38c1c4e8f644658ffa54921d96c7ea98a613a perl-5.18.0-RC1.tar.bz2
  e1f316f20993cbd688e9510e8c50ba59f7a9efb3 perl-5.18.0-RC1.tar.gz

You can find a full list of changes in the file "perldelta.pod" located in
the "pod" directory inside the release and on the web.

If testing finds no serious problems with this release candidate, it will be
released as v5.18.0 in about one week's time.
